Providing a holiday break for young adults experiencing a life threatening illness, bereavement or being a carer.

We all need a break from time to time from the pressures and routines of life, but for some people it can be especially beneficial and necessary. If you have been bereaved, or are facing diagnosis of a life threatening or terminal illness such as cancer, having a break away from home can provide time to reflect, to heal, to come to terms with new realities, or time just to forget and have fun.
If you are a young adult aged between approximately 18 and 30 and meet one of the following criteria, you can apply to the Fund for a grant to cover the cost of staying for up to a week at Paul's Place, a B&B cum retreat centre located at The Old Bakery in Georgeham near Croyde on the North Devon coast.
The Old Bakery/Paul's Place has three twin/double bedded rooms and as well as offering traditional B&B hospitality also has flexible self-catering facilities.
The criteria are:
The fund will also pay for an adult friend, family member or carer to stay with you, and, depending on circumstances, may meet the costs of a close family or friendship group.
For more information on eligibility and full details of how to apply, go the Applications page.
The Fund was set up by David and Pippa Morton following the death of their son Paul in November 2008 from a brain tumour. He was 19 years old. David and Pippa own and run The Old Bakery which is known as Paul's Place in the context of this charity.
If you would like to enable a young adult like Paul to have a much needed break, then you can make a donation to Paul's Fund as set out in the donations page.
David and Pippa are committed christians, as was Paul. Whilst their faith underpins Paul's Place, they warmly welcome people of all faiths and none to come and stay.
